DESCRIPTION:About\nCome and celebrate the 225th anniversary of the Brecon Canal as we Light Up The Canal with a stunning lantern procession and illuminated display across five canalside communities between Abergavenny and Brecon. \nThere’ll be lanterns\, illuminated displays on the canal and torches to help light the way. Everyone is warmly invited to walk the towpath\, enjoy the spectacle and celebrate the rich history that unites these communities along the Brecon Canal (which became the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal). \nStarting at Gilwern on December 8th\, each night will have a stunning community procession along the canal\, commencing at 6.30pm and lasting for approximately an hour. DESCRIPTION:About\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the people of Monmouth for a wonderful illuminating Christmas Lantern Parade through the streets their town. \nStarting at Monnow Bridge Gatehouse from 6.30pm\, the parade will be led by Father Christmas and culminate at the Shire Hall. \nThe parade is an annual celebration of light\, with this year’s theme being The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper’s Feast. DESCRIPTION:Each year\, our community comes together to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed in times of conflict. \nThis year’s service will take place on Sunday\, 9 November: \n  \n🕙 10:30 am – Wreath laying at the cenotaph (Town Hall passage)\, followed by the march to the War Memorial \n🕥 10:45 am – Service at the War Memorial (outside Tesco)\, led by the Borough Band \n🕚 11:00 am – Wreath laying & two-minute silence to honour the fallen \nPlease note: The section of the A40 around the War Memorial will be closed from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for the safety of attendees. \nWe warmly invite all generations to join us in this poignant occasion of remembrance\, respect\, and unity.
