Mayor and Deputy Mayor to carry on

Councillor Tony Konieczny will continue as Mayor of Abergavenny and Councillor Tudor Thomas will continue as Deputy Mayor of Abergavenny until May 2021 when Abergavenny Town Council will hold its Annual Meeting and elect a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Tribute to Honorary Burgess and Former Mayor Alan Breeze

Abergavenny Town Councillors and staff are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Alan Breeze. Alan was well-respected former Mayor and a great supporter of the Town Council. Alan was Mayor of Abergavenny on three occasions, 1980-81, 1985-86 and 2002-2003 with his wife Thelma as Mayoress

Town Council seeking new Macebearer

A vacancy exists for the position of Town Macebearer.

This role would involve attending all civic occasions with the Mayor, when in full regalia, and carrying the historic Mace.
