Each year in May the Council elects a Mayor who represents the Town Council at events throughout the year. This year 2022-23 the Mayor is Councillor Tony Konieczny.

Councillor Tony Konieczny is Town Councillor for Park Ward. Councillor Konieczny is also currently Chair of the Environment Committee. He is an active member of the Abergavenny Civic Society and heads up the Abergavenny In Bloom group.

His chosen charities are Help for Kharkiv, Cwtch Angels, and 7Corners.
