Tonight was our first ever Community Dinner, and it’s been a wonderful evening. The staff and volunteers at Abergavenny Community Centre were incredibly friendly and professional – ably assisting Franco Taruschio in preparing and serving canapes followed by a beautiful dinner for invited guests.
Good Citizen Awards were given after the meal to John, Wendy and Francesca Fulgoni for their community contribution not just during COVID but their continuing charitable efforts supplying eyecare to those who wouldn’t usually have access to this.
The Good Citizen Award was also given to John and Sylvie Sharland for their continuing fundraising efforts, not just for the Mayor’s Charities but also the Red Cross. Often seen in fancy dress doing bucket collections in supermarkets and the Market Hall, and known by many for their efforts as Mr and Mrs Christmas over many Festive Events.
