Young children visiting Bailey Park can now enjoy brand-new sensory play panels, thanks to a collaborative effort between local organisations and community groups.

The new panels, located within the Children’s Playground, have been installed to support early years play and development, offering an engaging and inclusive experience for families in Abergavenny.

The project was made possible through generous contributions from the Abergavenny Lido Group, Abergavenny Rotary Club, and Abergavenny Town Council, with installation carried out by Monmouthshire County Council. The initiative was facilitated by the Friends of Bailey Park, whose volunteers played a key role in bringing the project to life.

Friends of Bailey Park expressed their thanks to all involved for enabling the installation, highlighting the importance of accessible and stimulating play opportunities for very young children in the community.

To mark the occasion, volunteers were joined at Bailey Park by Abergavenny’s Mayor, Councillor Philip Bowyer, and County Councillor Tudor Thomas.

This latest addition reflects the ongoing commitment to enhancing local green spaces and ensuring they remain welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable for all.
