Abergavenny Town Council is celebrating national success after being recognised in three categories at the 2026 One Voice Wales Awards, held in Builth Wells.
The awards celebrate the outstanding work of town and community councils across Wales, recognising innovation, community impact and excellence in local government.
The Town Council received:
- Winner – Best Youth Engagement Initiative
- Highly Commended – Community Engagement Initiative
- Commended – Best Use of Digital Resource
These achievements reflect the Town Council’s ongoing commitment to engaging with residents, embracing innovative ways to communicate, and ensuring young people have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of Abergavenny.
Representing Abergavenny Town Council at the awards ceremony were Principal Officer and Responsible Financial Officer Sandra Rosser, Deputy Principal Officer and Finance Officer Rachel Lacey, Deputy Mayor Cllr Gareth Wilde and Cllr Philip Bowyer.
The awards recognise the collective efforts of councillors, staff, volunteers and community partners who continue to work together to deliver projects and initiatives that strengthen the local community.
Sandra Rosser, Principal Officer at Abergavenny Town Council, said:
