Mayor of Abergavenny Cllr Anne Wilde opened this year’s IYE Festival (Integrated Youth Event) on Saturday 8th July at Bailey Park. Not being ones to let a bit of rain dampen spirits, many people turned out to support the event organised by Ange Sampson from 7Corners. The event was supported by Cllr Tony Konieczny’s fundraising through his year as Mayor during 2022/23.
Supported by Gwent Police with their Community Outreach stall, Dance Attack who performed throughout the day, Danielle Farrington – the creator of two new murals in Bailey Park, showing how to create these works of art using spray paint, and other young volunteers and performers, the festival went on despite the liquid sunshine, allowing young people the chance to showcase their skills.
