Minutes of the Planning Committee held on Wednesday 10 February 2016 after the Council Meeting in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Abergavenny.

Present: Cllr C Woodhouse (Deputy Mayor)

Cllrs Mrs S Woodhouse, Ms S Dodd, J Prosser, N Tatam, D Simcock, Mrs M Harris, S Horrell and Miss M Toombs.

1. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs R Harris, Mrs M Powell, D Edwards, M Beecham and P Jordan

2. No declarations of interest were received.

3. The following Planning Applications were recommended for approval:

DC/2016/00043 Non Material Amendment – temporary removal of existing stone gate pillar with exact reinstatement at completion of the works and insertion of a pedestrian gate into the boundary wall at plot off Union Rd East, Abergavenny

DC/2016/00065 Discharge of condition 3 (written scheme of investigation – archaeology) relating to

approved application DC/2015/00070 at rear of 21 Nevill Street Abergavenny

DC/2016/00080 Non Material Amendment to previous application DC/2013/00473 at The Knoll, Brecon Rd, Abergavenny

DC/2015/01524 Discharge of condition 3 (landscaping) and 5 (bat roost details) relating to Planning

Application DC/2015/000405 Land between 11 and 12 The Courtyard, Plas Derwen View, Abergavenny subject to Officer approval.

DC/2015/01316 Planning Permission to erect wooden garden building in the garden area to the north of the existing building on land which is part of the whole. It will be used as a work space/studio at 40 Maes y Llarwydd, Abergavenny

DC/2016/00020 Planning permission for a two storey side extension and rear single storey extension at 73 Park Crescent, Abergavenny

DC/2015/01197 Planning perrmission for field access at 4 Raglan Terrace, Abergavenny

DC/2015/01575 Advertisement consent for non-illuminated totem sign at 11 Monmouth Road, Abergavenny.. Concern was expressed that it should not block views of the Castle and should be set back from the road-side.

4. The following applications were received and noted:

5. A question was raised about whether the new development at Brecon Rd had been approved as a gated community. Cllr Jordan as the ward member, would be asked to find out.
