Minutes of the Planning Committee of the Council held after the Council Meeting on Wednesday 10 September 2014 in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Abergavenny

Present: Cllr M Hickman JP (Mayor)

Cllrs C Woodhouse, R Harris, Mrs M Harris, D Edwards, Mrs S Woodhouse, Ms S Dodd, P Wadsworth and N Tatam.

In attendance: The Town Clerk

1. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs P Jordan, J L Prosser, R Harries, Miss M Toombs and Mrs M Powell.

2. Declarations of interest were made by Cllrs R Harris and D Edwards as members of the County Planning Committee. They took no part in the meeting. Cllr P Wadsworth declared an interest in application no DC/2014/00816.

3. The following applications were recommended for approval:

DC/2014/00785 Demolish existing garages and construct new double garage and 2 storey extensions to existing dwelling at 6 Lansdown Rd, Abergavenny

DC/2014/00945 Sub-division of existing A1 retail unit to form 2 A1 retail units, alterations to shop front incorporating new shop entrance and provision of access ramp and handrail to exterior of unit at Unit 1 Lion Works, King Street, Abergavenny

DC/2014/00725 Side and rear two storey extension to dwelling at 20 Hereford Rd , Abergavenny

DC/2014/00816 Replacement of prefabricated garage with en-suite bedroom, annexed to house at 1 Trinity Terrace, Abergavenny

DC/2014/00997 Removal of conditions 8, 9 and 10 for DC/20123/00761 at land adjacent to 29 Hatherleigh Rd, Abergavenny Approved so long as the removal of the conditions does not diminish the obligation on the developers as included in the new regulations.

DC/2014/00891 Advertisement consent fir 1 new fascia sign over shopfront entrance and 1 replacement bus stop hanging sign over shop front at 69 Frogmore Street, Abergavenny.

DC/2014/00882 Internal and external alterations to existing retail unit and installation of 1 AC Condenser unit to rear of property. 69 Frogmore Street, Abergavenny (Cllr Wadsworth left at this point)

DC/2014/00550 Outline Planning Permission for development of site for housing at 9 Park Crescent, Abergavenny Approved in principle but concern about the density of the proposed development.

DC/2014/01013 Erection of wooden shed on pre-existing gravel stand (completed) and erection of 1.8m fence between New Barn and the Old Dairy. New Barn, Red Barn Farm, Brecon Rd, Abergavenny

4. The following application was deferred to seek more information.
