Abergavenny Town Council Announces Election Process for Park Ward

Abergavenny Town Council is pleased to announce the upcoming election for the position of Councillor in Park Ward. This election marks a crucial opportunity for community members to actively participate in shaping the local governance of Abergavenny.

Key Dates and Information:

Nomination Papers Submission Deadline:
Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer no later than 4 pm on 17 November 2023.


Nomination Papers Delivery:
Nomination papers can be delivered to the Returning Officer at County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA, between 10 am and 4 pm on any working day from the date of this notice (excluding bank holidays). Electronic submissions are also accepted as per the arrangements outlined in the electronic delivery statement.


Obtaining Nomination Papers:
Nomination papers can be obtained from the Returning Officer either at the Council offices or online at www.monmouthshire.gov.uk.


Contested Election and Poll Date:
If any election is contested, the poll will take place on 14 December 2023.

Voter Registration Deadline:
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on 28 November 2023. Online applications can be submitted at www.gov.uk/registertovote.


Postal Vote Requests:
Applications, amendments, or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA, by 5 pm on 29 November 2023.


Proxy Voting:
Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA, by 5 pm on 6 December 2023.


Emergency Proxy Voting:
For emergency proxy voting, applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA, by 5 pm 6th December 2023.
