Abergavenny Town Council is preparing to launch a new promotional video with a playful twist to raise awareness of the campaign to restore the historic Abergavenny Town Hall Clock and help safeguard one of our town’s most recognisable landmarks for future generations.
The video will be officially released across Abergavenny Town Council’s social media channels on Monday 7th September and is fun, creative approach to telling the story of the clock and its importance to the town.
With a playful nod to the iconic film Back to the Future, the video takes viewers on a journey through time, celebrating the clock’s past while focusing firmly on its future and the campaign to restore it.
For many people, the Town Hall Clock is about far more than telling the time. The tower is an unmistakable part of our town’s skyline, while the sound of its chimes formed a part of everyday life for generations of residents.
Significant restoration work is now required, and we are calling on the community to get behind the campaign.
We hope the launch of the video will help take the story of the clock to an even wider audience, reaching not only current residents but former residents, visitors, businesses and anyone who has a connection with Abergavenny.
Community support will be vital for the fundraising campaign, and every donation, share and conversation about the project will help raise its profile and bring us one step closer to restoring this important piece of Abergavenny’s heritage.
The promotional video will premiere on all of our social media channels on Monday 7th September.
We encourage residents to follow our channels, watch and share the video when it is released, and help spread the story of this much-loved Abergavenny landmark.
The aim is to hear those familiar chimes ringing out across the town once again and to ensure that they remain part of the sights and sounds of Abergavenny for many years to come.
So, on Monday 7th September, keep an eye on our social media channels, it might just be time to go back to the future!
