Cllr Philip Bowyer has lived in Abergavenny for over 14 years and has long been active in the life of the town. His community work includes chairing both the Abergavenny Civic Society and the Bryn y Cwm Community Forum, as well as contributing to projects such as the pedestrianisation of the town centre, outdoor seating for local hospitality venues, and the restoration of landmarks like Bailey Park gates and the Gunter Mansion. He was also a key advocate for the recently completed accessible footbridge at the railway station.
Now serving as Mayor, Philip is passionate about building on the town’s strengths. He is particularly focused on supporting young people and youth sport and looks forward to working closely with groups across the Park Ward and beyond. “Abergavenny is a great place to live and work,” he says. “Our job now is to make it even better.”
