Sandra is the Principal Officer and Responsible Financial Officer for Abergavenny Town Council.  She has been the Principal Officer since September 2021. Sandra has worked in Abergavenny since 2005, having worked at Monmouthshire County Council in various departments for 17 years before taking on the role of Town Clerk which has been updated to Principal Officer to better reflect the responsibilities of the role.

As part of her role, Sandra attends larger Council Meetings at One Voice Wales, quarterly meetings for Society of Local Community Councils, and is a member of the Monmouthshire County Council Dog Fouling Working Group. Sandra has close links with many of the voluntary groups within the town and is keen to learn from all of these groups to be able to advise Councillors on what the residents and wider community want to see from their Town Council. Alongside her work role, Sandra is also a union steward with UNISON.
