Minutes of the Planning Committee of the Council held on Wednesday 13 April 2016 after the Council Meeting in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Abergavenny.

Present: Cllr C Woodhouse (Deputy Mayor)

Cllrs Mrs S Woodhouse, Mrs M Harris, Miss M Toombs, Ms S Dodd, R Harris, D Simcock, J Prosser, S Horrell, M Hickman and N Tatam 

In attendance : The Town Clerk and Mr M Bristow (Town Clerk elect)

1. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs D Edwards, M Beecham, P Jordan, Mrs M Powell.

2. Declarations of interest were made by Cllr R Harris as a member of the County Planning Committee and he took no part in the decisions of the meeting.

3. The following Planning Applications were recommended for approval:

DC/2016/00077 Planning permission to construct 2 storey masonry extension to rear of property at 31 Albert Rd, Abergavenny

DC/2016/00119 Planning permission for two storey extension to side of property at 7 Holywell Rd, Abergavenny

DC/2016/00201 Planning permission for proposed conversion of single residential dwelling into two dwellings at 106 Merthyr Rd, Abergavenny

DC/2016/00249 Planning permission for erection of two fences in 2 locations at Business Park, Mill Street Industrial  Estate, N Mill Street, Abergavenny

DC/2015/01291 Outline Planning Permission for a pair of semi-detached dwellings on ex-railway land to rear of 61 Park Crescent, Abergavenny Concern was expressed about access as it follows the route of an existing footpath. 

DC/2016/00170 Planning permission for kitchen extension and internal shower room at 27 Hereford R, Abergavenny Concerns about encroachment of the extension over the boundary with the adjoining property need to be addressed. Thee needs to be a practical as well as legal solution to this issue.  (Cllr Dodd declared an interest in this application and took no part in the decision)

DC/2015/01585 Planning permission to convert original house to 6 apartments; conversion of coach house and stables into two dwellings and demolition of 1970s extension block and erection of 36 new build residential units (including 10 affordable retirement apartments and 2 affordable retirement bungalows at The Hill, Pen y Pound, Abergavenny

DC/2015/01586 Conservation area consent for the above subject to the views of the Conservation Officer.

DC/2016/00250 Planning permission for single storey extension to provide improved kitchen, dining room and living accommodation at ground floor level at 29 Richmond Rd, Abergavenny

4. Decisions of the BBNP concerning an advertising  permission at the Skirrid Car Park and the replacement of radio masts at Cefn y Galchen, Abergavenny were noted
