Minutes of the Planning Committee of the Council held after the Council Meeting on Wednesday 13 May 2015 in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Abergavenny

Present: Cllr C Woodhouse (Chairman)

Cllrs D Edwards, S Horrell, M J Hickman, P Woodley, Mrs M Harris, R Harris, P Jordan, Mrs S Woodhouse, J L Prosser and N Tatam.

In attendance: The Town Clerk

1. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Ms S Dodd, Miss M Toombs, Mrs M Powell.

2. Declarations of interest were received from Cllrs D Edwards and R Harris as members of the County Planning Committee. They took no part in the decisions made.

3. The following applications were recommended for approval:

DC/2015/00403 Planning permission to build a timber garden room onto a timber base in the back

garden at 8 Belmont Rd, Abergavenn

DC/2015/00210 Planning Permission to extend existing dwelling (61) to form a new residential

dwelling (61A) all in a like manner. Extend in part existing bungalow (61) to form a kitchen at the    rear at 61 Park Crescent, Abergavenny. No objections although it was considered to be over-development of the site.

DC/2015/00315 Discharge of conditions 15 (site investigation and remediation works), 16 (Site

contamination), 22 (car parking scheme), 23 (pedestrian routes for access) and 26 (site contamination) of planning permission DC/2013/00304 at Milsteel Fabrications, Abergavenny

DC/2015/00405 Demolition of existing garage/outbuilding and proposed new detached dwelling

including parking on plot/garaging and services on land between 11 and 12, The Courtyard, Plas

Derwen View, Abergavenny

DC/2014/01460 Reserved matters for proposed new dwelling on land at Meryswyddon, Chain Road,  Abergavenny. No objections subject to Conservation Officer`s views

DC/2015/00530 Change garage and kitchen flat roofs to a pitched format and construct rear infil extension for wet room at 12 Trinity Street, Abergavenny

DC/2015/00396 demolition of existing garage and construction of new detached utility room within the site of the above property at 5 Deri Rd, Abergavenny

4. Recommended that the following application be refused:

DC/2015/00386 Demolition of existing garage and construction of detached 2 bedroom 2 storey house on Land at Sunnybank, Abergavenny. Over- development of the site and no parking provided. (Cllr Edwards declared a personal and prejudicial interest in this application)
