Minutes of the Planning Committee of the Council held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, following the Full Council meeting in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Abergavenny.

Present: Cllr J Prosser (Deputy Mayor)

Cllrs Mrs S Woodhouse; R Harris; M Harris; S horrell; M Hickman; N Tatam; P Jordan; C Woodhouse and D Edwards.

In attendance: The Town Clerk

1. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs M Toombs, S Dodd and D Simcock.

2. Declarations of interest were made by Cllr R Harris as a member of the County Planning Committee and he took no part in the decisions of the meeting. Similarly, Cllr D Edwards declared an interest as part of the County Planning Committee and remained as an observer. Cllr S Woodhouse declared an interest in DC/2016/00501 as a trustee of St Mary�s Church.

3. The following planning applications were recommended for approval:

DC/2016/00507 Planning Permission: Extension to ATS Euromaster Building (net increase of 17.9 sq m), erection of new class A1 retail unit (371.7 sq m gross), resurfacing and marking out of existing car park. 11 Monmouth Road,  Abergavenny NP7 5H. Councillors expressed concern over the height of the roof, design in a conservation area and would like the planning committee to give due cognizance to reservations about parking (concerns about the limited amount of parking on the development site) and access to highways.

DC/2016/00501 Planning Permission: Proposed demolition of the former organ blower chamber and former subterranean boiler room including access and the lowering of the ground levels and doorway to the Lewis Chapel north elevation.�St Mary’s Church, Monk Street, Abergavenny��NP7 5ND��

DC/2016/00474 Planning Permission: Single storey extension to the side of 44 Park Avenue.  44 Park Avenue, Abergavenny NP7 5SP

DC/2016/00319 Planning Permission: Demolition of existing bungalow and construction of two storey four bedroom dwelling.  15 Belgrave Road, Abergavenny NP7 5AH
