Minutes of the Planning Committee of the Council held on Wednesday 8 April 2015 after the Council Meeting.

Present: Cllr M J Hickman JP (Mayor)

Cllrs Ms S Dodd, P Wadsworth, Mrs M Harris, J L Prosser, C Woodhouse, Mrs S Woodhouse,  Miss M Toombs, N Tatam, S Horrell and D Edwards .

In Attendance: The Town Clerk

1. Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs P Woodley, P Jordan, R Harris, Mrs M Powell.

2. Declarations of interest were received from Cllr Edwards  as a member of the County Planning Committee. He took no part in the decisions on Planning Applications.

3. Cllr Edwards noted that at our last meeting three applications were considered which had already been decided by the County Council. He questioned why this had happened. The Clerk noted that at least one of them had only been with us for 4 weeks and  had already been decided. It was agreed that we need to talk to the County Planning Department to clarify this situation and to arrange ways to prevent this happening in future.

4. The following applications were recommended for approval:

DC/2014/01007 Listed building consent retrospective application for listed building repairs at 27

 Nevill Street, Abergavenny 

DC/2014/01006 Planning Permission for change of use from A1 to mixed A1/A3 use and retention of external works including air conditioning units and works to north elevation at 27 Nevill Street, Abergavenny. 

 DC/2015/00240 Planning permission for a two storey extension to the rear of the property at 14 

 Chestnut Drive, Parc Pen y Fal, Abergavenny

 DC/2015/00245 Planning Permission for conversion of redundant former chapel building to residential use for 6 residential units at former Pen y Fal Chapel, Sycamore Avenue Abergavenny � subject to adequate parking arrangements

 DC/2015/00246 Listed Building Consent for the above subject to the views of the Conservation Officer.

 DC/2015/00311 Planning permission for retention of covered seating and decking area within private car park at The Old Police Station, Baker Street Abergavenny. Subject to appropriate materials being used.

DC/2015/00349 Modification or Removal of Condition. Renewal of Planning Permission m?10973 and modification of condition 1 of planning permission DC/2010/00194 and removal of condition 2. at 9 Lansdown Rd, Abergavenny, subject to the views of Planning Officers.

 DC/2015/00249 Modification or removal of condition. Variation to condition 2 of planning consent

 DC/2012/00607 to allow opening of premises between 9:30-22.30 Monday -Sunday at Bethany

 Chapel, Abergavenny
