Abergavenny Businesses Invited to Help Keep the Town Blooming Gold

As Abergavenny gears up for this year’s Abergavenny in Bloom competition, local businesses are being called upon to help the town retain its coveted Gold status.

Abergavenny Town Council, alongside local volunteers and gardening groups is once again championing the town’s blooming displays and inviting businesses to sponsor hanging baskets to brighten up shopfronts and public areas.

Each basket costs £99, which includes watering and maintenance throughout the season. To encourage participation, Abergavenny Town Council is generously contributing £50 towards the cost of the first basket per business, reducing the price to just £49.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for local traders to get involved in something that lifts the whole town,” said a spokesperson from the Council. “Not only does it bring colour and life to our streets, it also creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and residents alike.”

Last year’s efforts helped secure Gold in Wales in Bloom, and organisers are determined to achieve the same high standard this year. But they need the community’s help.

Don’t have space for a hanging basket? Businesses can still play a part by donating time, supporting local planting schemes, or sponsoring other areas of the town.

To register interest or find out how your business can get involved, simply fill out the form here and send it back to admin@abergavennytowncouncil.co.uk.

Let’s work together to keep Abergavenny blooming beautifully!
